On February 27, 2026, the Stage II of the All-Ukrainian Competition-Defense of Student Research Papers for members of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine took place in the Sumy region. Young researchers — students of grades 8–11 — presented their own studies in history, local historical studies, ethnography, and related disciplines.
During the defense, participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, the ability to work with source materials, formulate scientific hypotheses, and argue their positions convincingly. The topics of the research were distinguished by their relevance, thoroughness, and deep understanding of historical processes and regional heritage.
The competition jury included Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of History at Sumy State University, Anatoliy Honcharenko, who participated in evaluating the presented research and engaging in professional discussions with the participants.
Events of this kind contribute to the development of young people’s scientific potential, the formation of research competencies, and the promotion of academic integrity among the student community.
