Serhii Tymoshenko – Architect, Statesman, and Political Figure

On February 4, 2026, a historical event was held at the Sumy Regional Universal Scientific Library to mark the 145th anniversary of the birth of Serhii Tymoshenko, a native of the Konotop region, a participant in the Ukrainian national liberation movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921, a statesman and political figure, a member of the Ukrainian and Polish parliaments, Minister of Railways of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, architect and artist, as well as Professor and Rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Economics in Poděbrady.

The lecture was delivered by Valerii Vlasenko, PhD in History, Associate Professor of the Department of History at Sumy State University. The event was attended by local historians, journalists, faculty members, and students of higher education institutions.
