On November 2, 2024, Sumy State University held its Open Day, welcoming prospective students and their parents interested in future studies. Among the various academic offerings, the specialties of the History Department drew particular attention. Professor S. Degtyarov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Associate Professor A. Honcharenko, Candidate of Historical Sciences, introduced attendees to the unique opportunities in the “History and Archaeology” and “Secondary Education (History and Civic Education)” programs.
The event’s program included an overview of educational paths, career prospects, and distinctive opportunities available to students. The department head emphasized the value of professional training, which not only provides solid theoretical knowledge but also equips students with practical skills through field research and archaeological expeditions.
The Open Day also gave prospective students the chance to ask questions, learn more about admission requirements, and understand the study conditions firsthand.
