On November 28, 2024, a regular meeting of the Advisory Council on Cultural Heritage Protection under the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Religions of the Sumy Regional State Administration took place. On November 28, 2024, the II Regional Tournament “Local Lore Treasures of Our Homeland” was held online, bringing together young experts of Sumy region. The tournament was organized by the Department of Education and Science of the Sumy Regional State Administration and the Sumy Regional Council’s Communal Institution – the Regional Center for Extracurricular Education and Work with Gifted Youth.

Ph.D. in History and Associate Professor of the Department of History at SumDU, N.V. Lobko, conducted a guest lecture on genealogy for students of the Sumy Branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The lecture was part of the course “History and Culture of Ukraine.”
Open Day at SumDU: Future Students Discover the World of History and Archaeology
On November 2, 2024, Sumy State University held its Open Day, welcoming prospective students and their parents interested in future studies. Among the various academic offerings, the specialties of the History Department drew particular attention. Professor S. Degtyarov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Associate Professor A. Honcharenko, Candidate of Historical Sciences, introduced attendees to the unique opportunities in the “History and Archaeology” and “Secondary Education (History and Civic Education)” programs.
Participation in the All-Ukrainian Online Forum “Prominent Figures of Ukraine in the Struggle for National Independence (20th – Early 21st Century)”
On 23 August, in celebration of Ukraine’s National Flag Day and on the eve of Independence Day, the Donetsk Regional Museum of Local History organised an All-Ukrainian scientific and educational online forum on the topic “Prominent Figures of Ukraine in the Struggle for National Independence (20th – Early 21st Century).” This significant event brought together museum professionals, local historians, academics, and scholars from various regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Sumy, Lviv, and many others.
