On March 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM, the Sumy Regional Universal Scientific Library (Hall No. 303) will host a historical lecture titled “Shevchenko Days of the Ukrainian Emigration: Based on Materials from Foreign Archives.”
The event will highlight little-known aspects of honoring Taras Shevchenko within Ukrainian émigré communities and explore how national identity and cultural memory were preserved abroad, drawing on materials from foreign archives.
Speaker: Valerii Vlasenko, PhD in History, Associate Professor of the Department of History at Sumy State University, member of the National Union of Local Historians of Ukraine.
Researchers, students, educators, local historians, and everyone interested in the history of Ukraine are warmly invited to attend and take part in the discussion, discovering new dimensions of Ukraine’s historical heritage.
