On September 23, 2026, a meeting of the Advisory Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage under the Department of Culture, Tourism and Religious Affairs of the Sumy Regional State Administration was held.
The meeting was attended by members of the Advisory Council, as well as representatives of the cultural affairs departments of the Hlukhiv and Lebedyn city territorial communities.
Sumy State University is represented on the Advisory Council by Serhii Dehtiarov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of History.
During the meeting, updated inventory documentation was reviewed for two local historical monuments: the “Memorial Sign in Honor of Taras Shevchenko” in Hlukhiv and the “Memorial Sign to the Victims of the Holodomor” in Lebedyn. Following the review, the inventory documentation was recommended for approval and signing in accordance with the procedure established by law.
The Council also reviewed draft technical land management documentation concerning the establishment of boundaries for cultural heritage sites subject to special protection regimes, namely seven local archaeological monuments located outside the settlements of the Lebedyn City Territorial Community. Following the review, the Advisory Council recommended that, after the completion of the public disclosure period and consideration of any comments and proposals received, the Department approve the above-mentioned draft technical documentation in accordance with the procedure established by law.
